How do the fixed price quotes work?
Brief us on your project or requirement by phone, email, WhatsApp or the form on our website. We’ll then assess the job, contact you with any questions then provide you with a quote by email. If you’re ok with the price, we then book in the work and agree a suitable time with you.
Do you charge a call-out fee to send a heating engineer or plumber to my property in Leeds?
We believe in honest, upfront pricing. We generally do not charge a separate, hidden “call-out fee” just for showing up. Instead, we typically operate on a minimum charge (often equivalent to the first hour of labour) which covers the initial assessment, diagnosis, and any immediate work. This way, you’re paying for the expert time on site, not just the travel. All our initial rates are clearly listed on this page, so you know exactly what to expect before we arrive.
How do you calculate the total cost for a repair or installation job?
For smaller repairs and diagnostics, we charge our standard, competitive hourly rates, which are detailed above. For larger jobs, such as new boiler installations or complex plumbing overhauls, we will always provide you with a fixed-price quote before any work begins. This quote is guaranteed—the price we agree on is the price you pay, giving you complete peace of mind and protection against unexpected costs.
Will I receive a clear estimate or quote before any work starts?
Absolutely! Transparency is key to our friendly service. Once our engineer has assessed the issue, they will clearly explain the necessary work and provide a detailed, itemised estimate or a final fixed quote for your approval. We will never proceed with any major repair or replacement until you are 100% happy with the cost and the plan. We want your approval, not your surprise!
Are there any hidden charges like parking, congestion, or costs for simple parts?
Definitely not. When we provide a quote, that is the final price. We guarantee no hidden charges. Our rates are all-inclusive of general overheads like parking and travel time within our primary service areas in Leeds. Occassionally the unexpected can happen and additional specific parts are required when we get to your site, but these additional costs will be discussed with you. Any parts will be itemised clearly and discussed with you before purchase and installation. We make sure all costs, including VAT, are visible and communicated with you from the start and throughout.
What payment methods do you accept, and when is payment due for the work completed?
We aim to make payment as easy as our repair service! Our plumbers carry mobile card payment machines and accept all major debit and credit cards and bank transfers. For standard repairs and servicing, payment is due immediately upon the satisfactory completion of the work. For larger installations, a deposit may be required to secure parts, with the final balance payable upon completion. You will always receive a full invoice once the job is finished.
Does your pricing include a guarantee or warranty on the work you perform and the parts used?
Absolutely. We stand by the quality of our work. All labour performed by our Gas Safe heating engineers is guaranteed for 18 months. For any parts we supply and install—including new boilers—you will benefit from the manufacturer’s warranty, which can be beyond 10 years for new installations. When you pay for an LS1 Plumbing repair, you’re not just paying for a fix, you’re paying for lasting peace of mind.
Do you charge higher rates for emergency boiler repairs or out-of-hours service?
To ensure we can provide that immediate response you need during evenings, weekends, or bank holidays, a slightly adjusted rate applies to out-of-hours emergency calls. This higher rate is necessary to keep our dedicated boiler engineers on standby 24/7. These emergency rates are clearly published on this page (or provided upon your call) and are agreed upon with you before we dispatch an engineer, so there are zero surprises when you need us most.
